Leucorrhoea refers to white or yellowish vaginal discharge that is typically odorless or has a mild odour. It is a natural secretion produced by cervix and vagina to maintain cleanliness and prevent infection. While its often normal, change in colour, consistency or odour can indicate underlying issues.

CAUSES:

# Hormonal changes :Hormonal fluctuations especially during puberty, ovulation ,pregnancy and menopause can lead to increased vaginal discharge.

# Infections: Bacterial, fungal or parasitic infections such as yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis and sexually transmitted infections can cause abnormal Leucorrhoea.

# Irritants: Allergen or irritants like soaps, douches, detergents etc can disrupt the natural pH balance of vaginal flora, leading to Leucorrhoea.

#Psychological factors: Stress, anxiety or emotional disturbances can sometimes interrupt vaginal discharge patterns.

#Diseases like pelvic inflammatory diseases, cervicitis and cervical cancer have Leucorrhoea as a symptom.
