Role of AMH(ANTI MULLERIAN HORMONE)in female infertility

■ Role of AMH (ANTI-MÜLLERIAN HORMONE) in Female Infertility in the Present Era.
● Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) is a naturally occurring hormone in the female body that indicates fertility potential.
● This article explores the implications of AMH for both fertility and infertility, demonstrating how an AMH test can offer valuable insights for clinicians and patients dealing with these issues.
● Stories of successful outcomes with low AMH are discussed, shedding light on the significance of this concept. The article outlines what an AMH blood test involves, the waiting time for results, the implications of low AMH for prospective parents, and addresses some facts and myths surrounding low AMH.
◾What Does an AMH Test Tell You?
▪️ An AMH test provides information about the number of remaining eggs and whether your ovaries might be aging rapidly.
▪️ It may indicate a shorter window for achieving pregnancy.
▪️ The test can reveal how well you respond to injectable fertility drugs for In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
▪️ Keep in mind that other factors, such as age, medical conditions, smoking, sperm count, and ovulation regularity, can also influence conception.
◾What Is a Normal AMH Level?
▪️ AMH levels vary with age, peaking around 25 years old and naturally declining thereafter.
▪️ AMH levels are measured in nano-grams per milliliter (ng/ml).
▪️ Average: Between 1.0 ng/ml to 3.0 ng/ml.
▪️ Low: Under 1.0 ng/ml.
▪️ Severely Low: 0.4 ng/ml.
◾What Is a Good AMH Level for Your Age?
▪️ AMH levels naturally decline with age, so lower levels are normal in your 30s, 40s, and 50s.
▪️ Examples for actual age groups:
🔸 25 years old: 3.0 ng/ml.
🔸 30 years old: 2.5 ng/ml.
🔸 35 years old: 1.5 ng/ml.
🔸 40 years old: 1 ng/ml.
🔸 45 years old: 0.5 ng/ml.
▪️ It's important to note that AMH may be high in some individuals with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
